Connecting Rural Communities with Technology: 100 Cloud Phones and 4G SIM Cards Donated in Vinh Long
On September 11, Lawrence S.Ting Foundation (LSTF) in collaboration with CloudMosa Company, Vinh Long Provincial Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Federation of Vinh Long province and local authorities organized a program to distribute 100 Cloud Phones and 4G SIM cards to people in rural and remote areas as part of the “Digital Literacy for All” initiative.
As Vietnam’s digital transformation gains momentum, the technology access gap between urban and rural areas remains significant. Many households in remote areas still lack smart devices, while the need for learning, communication, and entertainment continues to grow. Therefore, the donation of 100 Cloud Phones and 4G SIM cards is not only material support but also a practical tool to help residents access knowledge, information, and online services that once seemed out of reach.

A highlight of the program is that each device is powered by Cloud Phone, a platform developed by CloudMosa. This technology allows users to easily access the internet, learn languages, watch videos, listen to music, stay updated with news, and even enjoy entertainment like karaoke—simply with a 4G connection, without needing an expensive smartphone. It is considered an innovative solution, making technology more approachable, user-friendly, and suitable for a wide range of people, from students and young adults to the elderly.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Wu Wai Shan, CFO of CloudMosa, stressed: “CloudMosa is committed to narrowing the digital divide. We believe the internet is not just for a few, but for everyone—young or old, urban or rural—so they can all have opportunities to learn, connect, and enjoy entertainment.”
For Lawrence S.Ting Foundation, the initiative represents a natural continuation of its 20-year mission to enhance the quality of life and expand opportunities for learning and development in communities. Joining the “Digital Literacy for All” movement reflects the Foundation’s belief that technology is now a key driver of education and social inclusion.
At the event, participants not only received their devices but were also given step-by-step guidance from organizers on how to activate, set up, and experience Cloud Phone. Thanks to simple instructions and direct support, local residents quickly became familiar with the devices.

Local authorities praised the program, considering it a meaningful contribution to the process of building a digital society. From keeping in touch with loved ones to online learning, to participating in community activities, the donated devices open new opportunities for people in rural and remote areas.
Looking ahead, Lawrence S.Ting Foundation will continue working with CloudMosa and local partners to expand the “Digital Literacy for All” initiative to more areas. With the joint efforts of social organizations and technology enterprises, the program aspires to spread the value of connectivity and ensure that no one is left behind in Vietnam’s journey of national digital transformation.
