Bac Ninh province, 16th June, 2025 – The “One Place One Story” (OPOS) Summer Camp has officially kicked off at Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School in Bac Ninh City, marking the beginning of a 10-day journey filled with discovery, connection, and unforgettable experiences. More than just a summer camp, OPOS is a meaningful bridge bringing together students from Saigon South International School (SSIS), Lawrence S. Ting School (LSTS), and young people from the local community.

Each year, the “One Place One Story” Summer Camp finds a new home in a different province of Vietnam. With a clear mission at heart, the camp helps students improve their English communication skills in the most natural way, sharpen their soft skills, and, above all, develop a deeper appreciation for local culture and social responsibility. It’s where international learning meets Vietnamese heritage, inspiring a new generation of global citizens who stay proudly connected to their roots.

Bac Ninh 2025: Where traditional meets the future

This year, OPOS heads to Bac Ninh — the land of Quan Họ folk music and rich cultural heritage. 120 campers from 8 different secondary schools across the city will immerse themselves in 10 days of learning, hands-on experiences, cultural discovery, and personal growth.

Accompanying them are 41 dedicated student volunteers from SSIS and LSTS, both Vietnamese and international, divided into two teams: English tutor team and Com & Logs team. These volunteers are more than just supporters — they are mentors, connectors, and creators of an inclusive learning environment. Moreover, they also get the chance to experience local life, sharpen their organizational, communication, and teamwork skills in a real-world setting. This vibrant cultural exchange and meeting of fresh perspectives make OPOS truly stand out, empowering every student to grow, express themselves, and learn from one another.

10 Days of Summer Camp: Learn – Play – Explore – Create

Over the course of 10 days (from June 16 to Jun 26), every moment at OPOS is packed with thoughtfully designed activities that are not only engaging, but also highly applicable to real-life situations.

Master English, Unlock Soft Skills

At OPOS, English is no longer a chore or a dry subject without real-world applications. With the help of tutors, each lesson becomes an interactive playground where campers are encouraged to speak, debate, present, and collaborate, helping them speak English naturally and confidently. 

Between lessons, physical games and intellectual challenges, creatively designed by the media team, give students the chance to relax, recharge, and develop problem-solving and teamwork skills in a playful, supportive environment.

Exploring culture, nurturing community spirit

One of the most anticipated highlights of OPOS 2025 is the field trips to Bac Ninh’s traditional craft villages. From learning how Đông Hồ paintings are made, to discovering the art of Phù Lãng pottery, students will hear firsthand stories from local artisans and experience Vietnam’s cultural legacy up close. These experiences foster a greater appreciation for Vietnamese cultural identity and instill a strong sense of responsibility for its preservation and promotion.

Storytelling event – A night where stories shine

OPOS 2025 will come to a heartfelt close on June 26 with an emotional Storytelling Event. This event isn’t just a formal closing ceremony, but it is where each student becomes a storyteller, confidently sharing their own journey of growth and transformation. From stories about their progress in English, the soft skills they’ve developed, to unforgettable memories of Bac Ninh’s culture, all of these aspects will be told in their own words, their own voice, and their own unique way. The Storytelling Event is not only a reflection of how far they’ve come in language and presentation skills, it’s a powerful moment where they shine with pride in who they’ve become.
