Outreach Services in Bu Dang by Lawrence S. Ting Foundation and The Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank, LTD.
On July 25th 2025, a meaningful journey took place in the Bu Dang commune of Dong Nai province. The program offering free medical examinations, treatment, and medication provided essential healthcare services, igniting faith and hope for disadvantaged local residents. This initiative was organized by the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation in collaboration with The Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank, LTD. and many other dedicated partners.
The program’s primary objective was to deliver medical examinations, necessary treatments, and medication to the community. This effort addressed a critical need for accessible healthcare in the area and aimed to improve the overall health and well-being of the disadvantaged people.

Accompanying the program as a sponsor for the 4th year, The Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank, LTD. has continued to grant a collaborative sponsorship that worth USD 2862 to the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation. This sponsorship, along with the collaboration of doctors from the Cho Ray Hospital Veterans’ Association and medical volunteers, has contributed to the success of the Outreach Services program.
The Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank, LTD. donation was more than a financial transaction; it was a profound act of empathy, a silent promise to stand with those who have less, ensuring that the healing touch of medicine reached the hands that needed it most.
Beyond the support, employees from The Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank, LTD. also actively participated in the program. They diligently guided local residents and thoughtfully prepared gifts to be distributed after the check-ups. What truly stood out was The Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank, LTD. team’s warm and positive attitude, bringing comfort and encouragement to everyone they met.

Connecting the Community — Spreading Values
The program’s success was made possible by the joint efforts of:
1. The Veterans Association of Cho Ray Hospital
2. The Ultrasound – Internal Medicine – Artificial Kidney Department of Cho Ray Hospital
3. The Bu Dang Commune People’s Committee
4. A team of enthusiastic volunteer
With the participation of 17 doctors and 12 volunteers, the program provided health check-ups and meaningful gifts to 200 households. More than just medical examination, this was an opportunity for residents to gain valuable knowledge about healthcare.

Simple Joy, Heartfelt Humanity
Despite the scorching sun, residents waited patiently, their eyes shining as doctors and nurses gave them dedicated examinations and advice. The volunteers were also always on hand, guiding and chatting with the people to help them feel as comfortable as possible.
On the day of the free medical examination and medicine distribution event, a large number of disadvantaged local residents eagerly gathered to get their health checked. Their heartfelt feedback showed a deep concern for their own well-being and a strong desire to participate in such free medical events. This experience helped the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation better understand the community’s need for proactive healthcare and the importance of preventing potential serious health issues.

Every smile and sincere thank you from the residents was the greatest motivation for all the efforts. These simple but heartfelt moments created a beautiful memory, giving us the strength to continue our journey of spreading love.

We believe that trips like these will not stop. Happiness and sharing will always be our compass, guiding us to even more difficult areas in the future.
